Half Way Through The Week

WAKE UP!!!
I wish someone would shout. But no one will. I sit at my desk in Computer Technology, beginning to doze as I have completed most of the work. I feel as if my eyes are open, yet when my brain tells my eyelids to move I find that they have indeed been closed the entire time. Note to self, don't go to bed late, only to awaken early. Yeah I keep telling myself that, it will never work.

Well typical life of a teenager, and there's also the fact that school starts much too early for my liking. I mean come on, I have to board my bus by 6:37-ish in the morning, arrive at school by 7, chill with friends, cram for tests, all until 7:30. That's when the bell rings, signaling the beginning of a day filled with work. Now I wouldn't mind it at all; if only teachers could make it interesting. Would teaching a class while hiking be so bad? Let us sit on the floor as opposed to the cold hard desks; constantly shifting as we try to find the most comfortable position. Let us talk amongst each other, it's how I retain information. Joking about the prospect being brought up in class, arguing as we decide what the subject truly means, or just overall enjoying the topic.

Teachers tell us to be quiet by the end of the day, to "shut up and sit still!". How are we to do this, when that's what we have been doing all day? "Don't you guys have P.E?!" I have heard many teachers inquire. Yes, for 2 quarters out of 4. Some of us take it online so as to have more time to do the arduous homework for our core classes. Just as an FYI, we do have other classes; anyone else feel me? I feel as if my science teacher gives me two hours of homework because they think I don't take any other classes, just straight up science. Then my math teacher gives me an hour, ignorant of the science homework. Let's not forget I have to study 200 words for a 20 question vocabulary test for AP! Then again, I chose the classes I have. So I gotta take what I dish out.

Wow, sorry about that rant. It's just that CRTs are coming up. Oh excuse me, SAGE testing is coming up. Such a pretty name for such a hateful topic. To top that off, I still have a bunch of exams coming up during the testing. I mean no offense to anyone out there!! Especially my teachers! I love all the classes I take ––– true story. No truly! I enjoy school, and the prospect of learning. Ok, go ahead call me a nerd, although I'm pretty sure you would be using the word incorrectly.

Nerd
a foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious

I'm not too boring! (I hope) I wouldn't really know considering I've never actually met myself. But yes, school can be a ton of fun. And I am fortunate to even be attending school. My class & I are reading Romeo & Juliet in class, it states that girls at around the age of thirteen are getting married and having children. Juliet herself is only turning fourteen and her parents would like her to think about the prospect of getting married. I am indeed very fortunate that I am not in that situation.

So I just reread the description of my blog, yeah it doesn't really coincide does it? I apologize. Umm...Well I hate to do this, but here is a picture I drew recently. I noticed that it said I would post some of my own art, I don't even know what I was thinking when I said that. Some feedback would be nice, anything that I can improve on. Please don't feel the need to give compliments; it is something that we are forced to do, especially as society sees fit. I want actual feedback! Please critique! (That's if I have any readers however....hmmm I may have a dilema)

HATER OING TO HATE, POTATOES GOING TO POTATE. -THE BROWNIE

Well that's just downright inspirational. Thank you The Brownie! Yes dearest readers, that was someone else who wrote. Non moi. Though I did decide to introduce you to the wonderful language of gibberish before The Brownie so boldly interfered.

Well Happy Earth Day, and welcome back from Spring Break! Yeah, no I wish I wasn't typing this (no offense) but it would mean I was still on vacation. So here's a tribute to that wonderful week away from school.
I apologize for bad image quality

Anasazi Petroglyphs. Exquisite in every sense. One wonders what pigments they used, or if they carved them into the rock. If so, how did erosion weather the rock away to such a point that it has become smooth, but not taken away from the finesse of the image. Well I did a brief research on the subject, for I did not want to proffer inadequate information. So they are indeed "carved" into the rock. The word originates from the Greek root petro, or a more common form, petra which translates as rock/stone. That then combines with glyphenin, or "to carve"
I apologize for bad image quality
Does anyone else know what the symbol on the right symbolizes in image two? I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure they're correct.

Spring Break

Spring Break! At last! Well, three more hours of school left until I am free. Spring break couldn't have come at a better time, the snow is melting, birds are returning, flowers are growing. Well more or less. The weather here is just messed up: one minute it's snowing, the next it's summer, then it's winter again.

So today has most definitely been amazing. For anyone who doesn't understand, it's because it was the last day of school before spring break! Finally! So some advice for the day before spring break, hang with good friends, watch movies, and go adventuring!

Well, that's what I did today, I hope others had a good time too. And since my friend and I are so artsy, we kind of went on a photography rampage. I apologize if the quality is mediocre.

No Filter
So after trekking through the dense forest, snow still clinging to the earth beneath the trees, we came upon a stream that we followed. This of course led to wetlands, where our feet got thoroughly soaked. Pretty shnazzy nail polish aye? Neon green and like galaxy purple. I'm not really sure if those are the real colors, but let's just go with it shall we?

Filtered
This was yet another picture that I thought was quite clever. Our shoes tossed aside and forgotten, with all the freedom of one who is on vacation. I once again apologize if the image is unclear.

On the subject of photography, and resolutions, I actually learned how to create a 3D image in computer technology today. It was a lot of fun, we were allowed to venture outside taking pictures, and then turn them into 3D images on photoshop. So for anyone who has a stray pair of 3D glasses lying around, check out this picture (And come on, I bet a few of you have snatched a pair of recyclable pair from the movie theater).

Well have a good spring break everyone!!!!!

It's a Wednesday?

Bwuahahaha! Return of the moose statue!!
ummmm
I'm sorry I had to. It seems I have at last embraced the town spirit of obsessing over moose. So anyways, on to other subjects before this turns into a blog about moose...........

Well now I'm at a total loss as to what to write! I can't blog about the weather, did that last time. And I can't blog about moose AGAIN (not yet anyway). So, oh I know! One time, two blog posts ago, the What to Say post, I mentioned I had an idea as to what I should blog about!!

Well, that would have had to have been (wow mouthful) SHERLOCK!!! Aka, BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH!! Yes I'm sorry, I had to do at least one post about one of my favorite shows, albeit I don't watch many. On a side note, isn't the word albeit wonderful? Sorry word nerd over here. Anyhow, I have only one thing to say about this show, well one that I can display via picture.

And yes, I do adore this show. I also have read just about every sherlock story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Each story is an enticing mystery that I can't help but read. Granted, there are a few that aren't as good as the others, but they are fabulous all the same.

Some fun facts of the day: The methods Sherlock uses to solve crimes were actually used in England for a time by medical practitioners and others. Also, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle did not like the character Sherlock, but was pressured into writing the stories. Spoiler Alert - that is the reason as to why Sherlock "died" at the end of the first volume. However, so many fans were outraged that he had to continue the series. He also published the books at around the time of Jack the Ripper, the reason as to why he created a crime solving hero.

Wow, I apologize. I tend to stray from topics quite quickly. It's a problem, I know and I'm sorry. I have a very short attention span, which teachers don't seem to understand, so anyway back to Sherlock before I go off on a rant!

So if you haven't already recognized the actors, you should have. On the left we have Benedict Cumberbatch who acts in Star Trek Into Darkness, The Hobbit as the voice of Smaug, August: Osage County, and many don't know this...but in War Horse.

Now, on the right we have Martin Freeman. Acclaimed for acting as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. Also acts in The Office apparently, The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and others.

Anyhow, this TV Show is a must see!! I won't go into details, because I don't want to give anything away, which tends to happen on occasions.....

For more information on actors, I recommend this cool  blog by a friend of mine!

Anyhow, who else likes these wind instruments/mechanisms (for lack of a better word)

These metal contraptions bend to the winds demands, swirling and twirling on a good day. Can be quite mesmerizing at times. Just like those spin-fan thing-a-ma-bobbers we always played with as children. Yeah, you know, the rainbow colored ones. The toys that made kids puff up their cheeks like a puffer fish and blow with all their might until they got the wheel to spin. Remember those things? Well here's a friendly reminder.

Starting to ring a bell? Well it should.

Good gracious, I actually wrote real words and posted on a day other than Friday! I must be feeling quite gracious!

P.S
Don't get used to it. This is probably a first and a last time I will actually post this early. We shall see though
